Civic Curiosity E-Bike, July 2024
The University of Derby and Derby City Council have collaborated on an innovative community engagement project designed to engage young people and those from marginalised groups in art and research.
I created bespoke illustrations for the Civic Curiosity E-Bike project which included vinyls for two large electric bikes, each one featuring a compact wooden cabinet which can be unfolded to reveal compartments containing curious artefacts, take to the city and county to deliver a programme of events aimed at engaging the public in a mobile and fun way.
"I can't wait to see the new Civic Curiosities e-cargo bikes cruising around the streets of Derby, I wanted to create something eye-catching and fun to tell people how to engage with the bikes so I including some mystery doodles but also my favourite characters - some you might recognise… especially the one with pink hair - that’s me! I hope they brighten our communities, bring smiles to passersby and spark curiosity in our awesome city.”
