Artwork description
Doodle Derby is based on everything I love about Derby, from the architecture, cultural offerings and the great outdoors such as, the parks, museums, shopping and most of all beer!
Derby is a vibrant and varied place to explore, so my design features a variety of amusing things such as, did you know the hotdog was invented in Derby?
I’m influenced by popular culture, street and digital art especially illustration and character design. My design style is fresh, positive and colourful. I enjoy living and working in Derby and my design celebrates a city of happiness, an inspiring Derby!
“Carla was one of the artists commissioned by Derby Museums to work on the Derby Ram Trail and through the process one of the artists who engaged best with their sponsors. She had such great energy that we selected her to speak at our VIP event about her involvement in the project. She’s reliable, talented, passionate and a hard worker. I imagine that her enthusiasm would help inspire future artists.”
